Malfurion Stormrage, a高等精灵 (Blood Elf), embarked on a similar quest as other Quel'Dorei to investigate the Well of Eternity. However, unlike many, he sensed its peril, witnessing the corruption of the queen and her loyal elves due to the seductive power. When Queen Azshara opened a portal for the Burning Legion, Malfurion was among the first to resist.

His growing affection for the High Priestess泰兰德 strained his relationship with his brother伊利迪安. However, their differences were set aside during the battle against the Burning Legion. Malfurion believed that the root of their struggle lay in the Well, and he advocated for its destruction.伊利迪安, unable to resist the allure of magic, betrayed Malfurion and his allies when they planned to attack the queen.

Malfurion successfully destroyed the Well, though the aftermath caused devastation. He rallied the remaining Kaldorei, including the surviving Quel'Dorei, to return to the surviving Hyjal mountain. They discovered伊利迪安's treachery and witnessed the rebuilding of another Well. Despite his love for his brother, Malfurion knew peace could not be achieved until伊利迪安 was restrained. He, along with Neltharion, constructed a prison for伊利迪安 in a dark and magic-free place, then returned to rebuild their people's home, forsaking the dark magic of the Quel'Dorei and embracing the Druidic arts.

The destruction of the Well awakened the dragons, who, upon hearing Malfurion and泰兰德's tale, decided to create a powerful artifact to defend against future invasions. With the aid of Al'Xsis, Ysera, and Nozdormu, the Life Tree was born, protecting Hyjal and the Night Elves. As the Druids entered a deep slumber within the翡翠梦境, they pledged to guard the tree's magic.

Malfurion, along with the Druids, would periodically awaken to watch over the Forest of Elune in Silverpine, and the forest flourished with creatures like bears and boars. However, the Quel'Dorei, influenced by Dath'Remar, began to rebel, seeking the power of magic. Their attack on Silverpine to sway the Druids ended in defeat, as the Quel'Dorei, unskilled in magic after centuries, were outmatched. Malfurion, unwilling to see his people turn against each other, chose exile.

The remaining Quel'Dorei, now self-proclaimed Blood Elves, left their homeland in search of new havens. Malfurion retreated to the翡翠梦境, entrusting the forest to泰兰德's watchful care.
