Nintendo DS（任天堂DS，简称NDS），是日本任天堂公司开发的携带型掌上游乐器，DS是Dual Screen（双萤幕）的缩写。主要的特征包括了双萤幕显示，其中下方的萤幕为触控式萤幕，并配备有麦克风（声音输入装置）和 Wi-Fi 无线网路功能。 北美地区在2004年11月21日发售，日本接着于2004年12月2日上市，欧洲则在2005年3月11日发售。 中国大陆地区由当地厂商神游科技使用「iQue DS（iDS）」的名称推出，于2005年7月23日发售。定价为￥1518（包含GBA、NDS游戏各一款）。iDS是唯一相容全球所有区域NDS游戏的型号。 2006年3月21日在日本发售了名为NDS Lite的新机种，原本旧型的NDS将逐渐停止生产，由NDS Lite接替。澳洲于2006年6月1日 发售，美国地区于2006年6月11日发售，欧洲地区于2006年6月23日发售，台湾地区于2006年6月底发售，中国大陆地区尚未确定是否推出。 特长 双萤幕 Nintendo DS有上下两个包含背光的3英寸液晶萤幕，可显示26万色。以往许多游戏中必须要透过画面切换才能看到的讯息，现在可以方便地使用第二个屏幕来看到了。 触控式萤幕 触控式萤幕为Nintendo DS最大的特点之一。使用下方的触控式萤幕和附带的触控笔，玩家可以灵活自如地控制游戏进行。而且触摸屏引入了许多以前通过按键不能实现的游戏方式。 声音识别 通过机身内的麦克风，玩家可以通过声音来操纵游戏。 网路通信 主机支援Wi-Fi通讯协定，可以透过任天堂公司的无线网路服务「Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection」与世界各地的玩家一起进行游戏。 无线通信 NDS主机内建的无线通信功能，可以将多台NDS主机直接连线进行游戏。分为「Wireless Play（无线通信游玩）」和「Download Play（下载游玩）」两种方式。 「Wireless Play（无线通信游玩）」需要准备与人数相同的NDS主机和游戏软体，最大人数无上限，依照游戏软体而有不同，例如「大合奏!バンドブラザーズ（大合奏）」游戏可支援无上限的同时游玩的人数。 「Download Play（下载游玩）」只需要准备一份游戏软体，其他的NDS使用者就能够从装有游戏软的NDS主机上下载游戏，并进行连线游玩。 Game Boy Advance的游戏软体在NDS上也可以进行连线对战。 双卡带插槽 机身上同时配备有Nintendo DS和Game Boy Advance的游戏卡带插槽。
